One of our favorite lines from the Declaration of Independence is “…life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” These words are not only at the core of our country’s foundation, they are at the heart of Allison James Estates and Homes’ vision and purpose as well. After all, freeing up real estate agents from the bonds of brick and mortar brokerage houses while also allowing them to keep 100 percent of their sales commissions is a great way to help real estate agents pursue happiness! In fact, more than 1,200 real estate professionals across the country have declared their own independence from traditional real estate business models, and joined forces with Allison James Estates and Homes. Just take a look at Liz Blackmon, one of our real estate agents from Northern Virginia who embodies patriotism and the ideals surrounding the pursuit of happiness.
Liz represents the Northern Virginia areas of Alexandria, Fort Belvoir, Quantico, Woodbridge, and Lorton. She is an accomplished part-time real estate professional, a fulltime Federal employee, and a disabled veteran. One of the things that we love about Liz is that she is a huge advocate for helping young military families with their real estate needs. One of the ways Liz does this is by understanding how to create a positive environment for good communication and negotiation. According to Liz, these skills are what make her one of the most successful real estate agents in the Northern Virginia area.
“I have a very strong ability to communicate and create a spirit of effective collaboration. I think I get these skills from working for the United States Department of Transportation,” said Liz.
In fact, Liz has spent the past 28 years solving challenging labor relation’s issues for the Federal Government through alternative dispute resolution methods and effective arbitration strategies. She also uses these skills when representing her real estate clients throughout Northern Virginia.
“I really appreciate the process of helping people. I think whether you are talking about the government or real estate, appreciating people for their accomplishments is so important,” said Liz.
With a solid track record of helping Marines and their families find the perfect home, Liz receives the majority of her business from direct referrals, and demonstrates her patriotism and loyalty to Allison James Estates and Homes on a daily basis. Liz plans on working full time as an Allison James real estate agent following her retirement from the U.S. Government this October.
Liz, you are our hero!
